Walmart Curbside Pickup offers a convenient way to order items online and bring them to your car in the Walmart parking lot. This service allows you to enjoy shopping from the comfort of your home, saving you time and making your shopping experience hassle-free. Heres how it works:

1. Download the free Walmart app on your smartphone or visit their website and log into your account.
2. If you’re new to Walmart, provide your name, email address, and payment information to register a new account.
3. Select your preferred store location offering curbside pickup and reserve a time slot for pickup.
4. Make sure your current store with curbside pickup service is listed before proceeding.
5. Browse for items and add them to your cart. Look for the “pickup and delivery” option in the top left menu to see which items are available for Curbside Pickup.
6. Both grocery and non-food items can be combined in the same order.
7. After completing your order and submitting payment, wait for a confirmation text or email to inform you that your order is ready for collection.
8. When you arrive at the store, look for the designated Curbside Pickup zone, park in the assigned space, and wait for a Walmart associate to bring your items to your car.

• Using The Walmart Website

Both methods offer you a chance to check out the inventory, add items to your cart, apply discounts and coupons, and much more. Here are the steps below:

Using the Walmart App

1. Download the Walmart app on your smartphone.
2. Log in to your account or create a new one if you haven’t already. You must provide your name, email address, and payment information.
3. Choose your preferred store location with a curbside pickup option.
4. Reserve your desired pickup timeslot by pressing the “See times” button. Select a day and time convenient for you.
5. Browse through the available items and add them to your cart. Make sure to use the search bar to find specific products.
6. Proceed to the checkout, review your order, and confirm the reservation.

You’ll receive a notification when your order is ready for pickup. The app sends a notification natively, and you’ll also receive a text message to your mobile number on file.

Using the Website

1. Navigate to walmart.com and log in to your account. If you don’t have an account, create one by providing the required information.
2. On the homepage, scroll down and click “Reserve pickup or delivery,” then press the “See times” icon.
3. Choose your store location offering the curbside pickup service.
4. Select a pickup day and time that aligns with your schedule and click “Save.”
5. Begin shopping by entering items in the search bar or browsing the product categories. Add desired items to your cart.
6. Once you’re done shopping, proceed to the checkout and confirm your order details.

Walmart will notify you when your order is available for pickup at your chosen location.

Choosing and Managing Pickup Options

One of my favorite things about curbside pickup is the pickup options. It offers you a ton of flexibility when it comes to times for pickup, designating others in your party to take your order, and much more.

Selecting a Time Slot

To select a time slot for pickup, visit Walmart.com or use the Walmart app to start your order. Once you have logged in, scroll down to the middle of the homepage and find “Reserve pickup or delivery.” Click the “See times” icon, and make sure your local store is listed as the pickup location. Choose the day and time for your order from the available options, and hit the “Save” button.

Adding an Alternate Pickup Person

If you need someone else to pick up your order, you can add an alternate pickup person during checkout. Provide their name and mobile number. Walmart will notify the alternate person, letting them know when the order is ready for pickup.

I prefer this flexibiilty because then all the communications can be streamlined, so theres no confusion with your person when it comes to pickup times, locations, etc.

Checking Availability

To ensure the items you want are available for store pickup, you can filter your search by selecting the “Pickup & Delivery” filter option. This will show you only the products available at your chosen local store. Remember that reserved time slots may expire unless your order is completed within an hour of selection, so finish your shopping on time.

Managing Prescriptions

Walmart’s pharmacy also offers curbside pickup for your prescriptions. To use this service, order your refills through the Walmart app and select the “curbside pickup” option^3^. Combining your essentials and prescription pickups can save even more time during your Walmart Curbside Pickup experience.

Order Editing and Cancellation

As with any kind of service, there are times when you need to cancel or make changes to your order. Thankfully, Walmart makes that easy with order substitions, and cancellation request functionality.

Making Substitutions

If you want to change your order, you can do so when it’s still in the processing stage. To make substitutions:

1. Search for the item you want to replace and add it to your cart.
2. Remove the unwanted item from your order.
3. Keep in mind that making changes may affect your pick-up time or the availability of other items on your list, so it’s best to finalize your order as soon as possible to secure your desired pickup slot.

This is similar to what you can do with other apps like Shipt and Instacart.

Canceling an Order

In case you need to cancel an order, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Walmart account.
2. Locate the order you want to cancel.
3. Scroll to the bottom and select “Request Cancellation,” if available.

If the “Request Cancellation” option is unavailable, your order may already be in the final stages of processing or has been shipped. And, that makes sense since real labor actually takes place and to a point can’t be undone by the staff.

In that case, you will need to follow Walmart’s return policy or start a return in your account once you receive the item. Many of their items can be returned in 30 – 90 day window depending on the product and type.

Remember, when using Walmart curbside pickup, you must keep track of your orders and ensure that all changes and cancellations are made promptly. Otherwise, you’ll run into some silly issues that could have otherwise been avoided.

Payment and Fees

When placing an order for curbside pickup, you can use various payment options, including credit or debit cards, Walmart gift cards, or Rewards. However, note that Walmart Pay is not accepted for pickup orders. That’s a bit weird considering how much they push it with their in-store shopping practices.

With a Walmart Rewards Card, you can earn points on your curbside pickup orders, just like when shopping in-store or online.

As you shop, remember that the minimum order for free curbside pickup is $35. If your order falls below this amount, there will be a service fee of $5.99. The good news is that if your order is more than $35, there won’t be any service fee for curbside pickup.

So, lets say you’ve gotten to the point of setting up your order, making the payment, and then driving to the store. Well, thats just the first part of the pickup experience. At this point you’ll do need to do a mobile check-in, head got he curbside pickup area, and finally let the Walmart associates load your vehicle with your items.

Mobile Check-In

To ease your shopping experience, Walmart has simplified and convenient the pickup process. Before leaving for the store, ensure you have the free Walmart app on your phone.

This app is crucial for mobile check-in. When arriving at the store, open the app and select “check-in.” This informs the store associates that you’ve arrived, allowing them to bring your order outside to your car.

In my experience, the app will ask for two things:

• The color of your vehicle
• The spot number you’re in

The spots usually range from 1 though 6, but some Walmart stores may have more depending on their size.

Curbside Pickup Area

Once you’ve completed mobile check-in, you can easily locate the designated curbside pickup area. It is typically marked with clear signs, ensuring it’s easy to find.

As you pull into this area, park your car in an available spot. Walmart associates will be notified of your arrival, and they will bring out your items promptly. I always back my car up so that they can easily place the bags in the trunk, but there’s no requirement for that.

Receiving Assistance

Walmart ensures that its associates can provide you with the assistance you need during your curbside pickup experience. The associates will efficiently load your items into your car, so you don’t have to leave your vehicle3. If you have any questions or concerns, please ask for their help.
