5. Once you’ve added your payment cards, you can quickly check out and pay using your smartphone at any register in-store.

Setting Up Walmart Pay

First things first, you’ll need to download and open the Walmart app on your smartphone. Sign in to your Walmart account or create one if you don’t have it already. Once you’re logged in, navigate to the “Services” section and look for “Walmart Pay.”

If you’ve ever handled lots of gift cards, you know how easy it is to lose them, misplace them, or mix them up with one that looks just like it. Thankfully, Walmart has added the ability to link those to your Walmart Pay account too, similar to Starbucks Rewards.

To use a gift card, first link it to your Walmart Pay account. When checking out, you can choose the gift card as your payment method, and the amount will be deducted from the gift card balance.

The only catch, however, is that you cannot use a gift card to purchase another gift card. But everything else within the terms of your gift card is fair game!

Cash Back Credit Card

If you have a cash-back credit card, like the Capital One Walmart Credit Card, you can also use it with Walmart Pay. You can earn rewards and cashback on your Walmart purchases by linking your cash-back credit card to the app. This allows you to enjoy additional savings and benefits while you shop.

Can I use EBT with Walmart Pay?

Currently, Walmart Pay does not support EBT payments. To use your EBT card, you’ll need to swipe or insert it at the register when you’re checking out.

Walmart Pay and Other Services

I do a lot of shopping with Walmart and its brands, and I was surprised to see that Walmart Pay is accepted in a couple of other places, not just the main store.

Murphy USA Fuel Stations

Walmart Pay can be used at participating Murphy USA Fuel Stations. This adds convenience as you can securely pay for your fuel without needing your physical wallet.

Pharmacy

When managing your prescriptions, Walmart Pay makes it easier than ever. You can use Walmart Pay at the pharmacy counter of participating Walmart Pharmacy locations for a seamless payment experience.

Grocery Pickup and Delivery

Walmart Pay simplifies your grocery shopping experience by allowing you to use it for Grocery Pickup and Delivery services. When using the Walmart app for grocery shopping, you can select your payment method, including Walmart Pay, during checkout. This ensures a secure and streamlined process for your grocery needs.

Sam’s Club

Unfortunately, Walmart Pay is explicitly designed for store use and is not supported at Sam’s Club locations. However, Sam’s Club offers its own mobile app with a convenient Scan & Go feature, allowing you to scan items as you shop and pay directly.

I found that a little odd since Walmart owns Sam’s, but I can understand how they want to separate the entities.
