Does Family Dollar Take Google Pay

Not every store, however, has caught on to the drift that making purchases with a digital form of payment is becoming one of the most common and popular ways to make purchases.

With assuming purchasing capabilities because a store sells products worth less value, our mind can assume that they may not have new technologically advanced POS systems in their stores. Let’s dive in and find out if Family Dollar takes Google Pay.

Family Dollar does accept Google Pay.

Not only do they accept Google Pay, but like many stores nowadays, they are excited to promote using this way of payment. Not only is it convenient for them as it runs like your average credit or debit card, but it also prevents the spread of germs from touching the checkout system. Let’s dive in and find out a little more!

How do you use Google Pay at Family Dollar

First, get out your electronic device, which your Google Pay account is linked to and is readily available to use, whether your cell phone or tablet. (Yes, it is usually also linked to a laptop/computer, but I would assume most people aren’t taking that device into a store to pay out of it not being very convenient to carry!)

After the Family Dollar store clerk has beeped in your items and given you a final total of your purchase, you will put the back of your phone where the contactless payment symbol is on the front of the checkout system.

You may have to move it around a little bit until it gets that perfect connection between the device and POS, and then your phone will make a lovely charm sound. This sound indicates that the system has read your card information and will process it.

You will see a little blue checkmark appear on your phone for confirmation. Most checkout stands will have pretty standard questions after your scan, some may ask for your zip code for verification, a pin, or some may say, “Thank you for your purchase!” It is very simple.

What other types of digital payments does Family Dollar accept at their stores?

Family Dollar happily accepts the following payment types:

  • Cash
  • Debit cards (Visa and Mastercard)
  • Most prepaid Debit cards
  • Credit Cards (Visa and Mastercard)
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay
  • Checks
  • Gift Cards
  • EBT Cards

What can you buy at Family Dollar with the listed payment methods?

Anything and everything! Family Dollar accepts many different forms of payment to allow you to purchase many of the items they carry. Whether you are purchasing food, clothing, party supplies, or beauty items, they accept your payment as long as it aligns with the list above.

Regarding EBT purchases, you can generally only purchase food items (not hot). Of course, each state is different, so check with your local EBT office to get a list of acceptable purchases.

Are digital forms of payment accepted on Family Dollars website?

Yes, digital forms of payment like Google and Apple Pay are also accepted on their website. When you are ready to make your purchase at the checkout, simply select your payment method from their drop-down list or prompting button. This is the ultimate convenient way to shop…online AND with your digital card!

Family Dollar, like many other large and in-charge stores that provide us with necessities, accepts contactless payment options. I suppose that should be a lesson learned; just because something doesn’t cost as much doesn’t mean it’s not worth the purchase! Be sure to air hug your Family Dollar store clerk to thank them for accepting Google Pay next time you are in.
